The New Jersey Asian American Coalition (working name) is a new statewide initiative that organizes pan-Asian American leaders and groups to create a progressive network that realizes the power of collective action to advance multiracial equity, health, and justice through organizing, advocacy, policy research, education, and representation for NJ’s 1.1 million Asian Americans. Incubated by AAPI New Jersey, the Coalition will be supported by a steering committee of non-profit and community leaders from across New Jersey.
The NJ Asian American Coalition seeks a Director of Coalition Outreach & Organizing who will lead, manage, and coordinate the day-to-day activities of creating a progressive network of Asian American leaders and groups. This position is an opportunity for a strategic, organized, and entrepreneurial manager to help build a first-of-its-kind network in New Jersey and to catalyze diverse Asian American leaders to organize and take action on mission-oriented policy issues that will result in both immediate and generational change, while working together with other progressive leaders and communities of color.
Over the course of 12-36 months (contingent on sustained funding), the Director of Outreach will develop and execute a mission-critical, time-oriented “roadmap” to build up a network of Asian American leaders and groups to develop common purpose and motivate them to engage more deeply in policy issues.
